Google Page Speed is another WPO meter that is classified as an add-on Firebug but recently it has gotten a web app iteration. One of the really nice things about it is that if online tool is used, there are no files to download and install. Developed by Google, it is better and effective to use since it does most of the optimization then immediately provide you with the modified code and image. It is also beneficial since it will monitor the overall activities of your website.
GTMetrix
- This probably the best WPO of the bunch. It leverages the best of both YSlow and Google Page Speed. It runs in any browser without the need to download or install anything. The reporting is very complete and can be downloaded in PDF format to review later or email. Metrics are precise and it offers on-site instructions what can be optimized and how leading the user through extensive docs of particular optimization technique with examples. You simply enter the URL of the page you want to test and it reports back how the page loads while ranking the performance on a scale of 1 to 100.
