With this kind of display, the SO906i can turn into a really nice mini TV. On May 8, 2007, the new, slim Sony Ericsson P1 was introduced. This smartphone offered a list of rich features like a 3.2 Megapixel camera, QVGA touchscreen, dual-function keypad, secure push email, WiFi, and VoIP support. Enabled with mobile office and multimedia capabilities, this handset brought the ’P series', which was first introduced in 2003, finally into line with Sony Ericsson's other top-of-the-range models. The P series are recognized for their touchscreens, QWERTY keypads (on most models), and the use of the UIQ interface Platform (formerly known as User Interface Quartz). The P series specific applications have since been implemented into the M series (Business focused smartphones) and the G series (Compact Touch Series). The Xperia X1, soon-to-be released, is the first smartphone of this caliber, and should hit the stores at the end of September 2008. With this model, Sony Ericsson’s powerhouse smartphones opened the door for the integration of the Windows Mobile Operating System. This joint venture of Sony and Ericsson has altered the dynamics of the mobile industry. Their product line consists of music oriented, camera based, business class and economical phones. It seems that, with every new mobile generation the company introduces, they show the world they are keeping up with advanced technology, and are still more than willing to come up with new and better ways to satisfy their devoted customer’s needs. |
