GreenHeart - the Biodegradable Mobile
Sony Ericsson is back with the launch of a new mobile concept, a handset that unfortunately will not be hitting any production line soon. The GreenHeart phone represents the idea of a more eco-friendly mobile. This would include features such as bio-plastic housings, recycled plastic keypads, zero charger with 3.5mW standby power, HTML based e-manuals, a game style educational application ‘Ecomate’ and environmentally conscious packaging.
Environmentally, all Sony Ericsson products tend to live up to the exceptionally high standards that are expected by today’s consumers and the industry in general. Therefore, it comes to no surprise that Sony Ericsson is taking this concept quite seriously, and has already started extensive research in recyclable materials and techniques. Furthermore, they are working closely with industry partners and customers to help develop and design the features of this exclusive ecologically-friendly phone. They want to ensure that the full life cycle of the GreenHeart phone can be made as environmentally friendly as possible.
Folks who were able to get a sneak peek at a prototype found that the device was not as appealing as the XPERIA X1, but mentioned in the same breath that it was not a too shabby looking design either; at least not for a handset made out of biodegradable and recycled resources. So let’s cross our fingers and hope that someday in the near future, Sony Ericsson's GreenHeart phone will really see the light of day, and help maintain our planet’s eco-system.
